The Reiki community is growing every day. It is present in hospitals in Germany, in prisons in Brazil, in nurseries in Hong Kong and in families everywhere.
Since 1992 I have made my living with Reiki. Together with my wife, I have had the honour to initiate thousands of people. I have been in various professional associations, sometimes at their helm during tumultuous times.
With the work as presented on this website I want to contribute to conciliation in the Reiki world so that current and future generations are free of remnants of dissonance from the past.
Conciliation aims at co-existence, honoring – even celebrating – diversity.

The vision is still our fixed star to go by. The re-launch of our website in July 2020 reflects some of our achievements.

Growing up
I was born in 1953 and grew up with my caring and loving grandparents in Switzerland. I have never met my biological father.
Midlife
A life of adventurous road-trips and a career as a businessman followed. In 1980 I married Mischa Vögtli-Egloff and we went to live in South Africa. We left the apartheid-ruled country after three years for conscientious reasons.
A decade later we lived in Hong Kong and had two sons. A crisis – marital or midlife, or both – brought us to Reiki. In 1992 Mischa and I became Reiki Masters and we have been full-time Reiki professionals since then.
Organisations
From 1992 until 2010, my wife and I were members of The Reiki Network (TRN) serving alternately on the committee. Our departure was painful to us and many members of the organisation.
In the 90ies we named own enterprise Reiki International. After our departure from TRN we built on the name and formed RIO, Reiki International Organisation for all styles and grades.
In 2010, I became a founding member of ProReiki – a professional association with members from different Reiki styles and traditions. I hold a seat on the council of elders.
Conflicts between Reiki Masters look like a contradiction to the essence of Reiki. Maybe Mastery is defined by our willingness to overcome animosity – allowing Reiki to grease our squeaking wheels in the process.
Reconciliation
I was born into the period of reparation and peace-endeavours after WW II. My first conscious reflection of suppression and its non-violent resolution was my experience in South Africa. In 1986 the Korean Government launched a massive tax- and fraud claim against the company for whom I was Managing Director in Seoul. It was my job to settle it.
Later my unification with my mother and the forgiving-process with my father followed.
Such were encounters with reconciliation in my personal life and in my professional life as a businessman.
As a Reiki Teacher, I started to understand that the process of acknowledging guilt or injury, of regretting and apologizing, of making and accepting amends, in a word, the process of forgiving, is central to healing. In individuals and in organisations.
Conciliation allows us to go about freed of a burden, irrespective whether we walk the same path or go separate ways.

Gratidude
In the initial years Edith Bannwart was an irreplaceable and reliable assistant. She passed away on 3rd June, 2019.
From the beginning in 2014 Adriano Fattizzo volunteered countless hours of his time with highly professional competence and dedication. His beautiful mind, creativity and generosity are existential pillars of reiki-conciliation.
Without the sponsors from different Reiki-styles the financing of our work would have been impossible. More importantly even, we thank them for their trust.
We thank Phyllis Furumoto whose generosity made it possible to release our feature debut, RECONCILIATIONand the historic “archive”, i.e. the 66 steps…
Many people helped on the way. Thanks to all of them and particular gratitude to Iryna Ostapyuk who formed the RCircle.
Heart-felt gratitude goes to each and every one of you – whether your name is spelled out here or not.
