ERG endeavours to provide services to its participants by involving national associations. ERG enables associations to share information, communicate and collaborate efficiently.
What is the purpose?
To provide a way for national inclusive Reiki associations to keep each other informed across national boundaries about current endeavours, projects, local regulations, recognition of the Reiki method by society, local authorities, education and health institutions. This brings a sense of belonging to a larger community and enhances coherence on all levels.
Who is it for?
Mainly for the official representatives of national European Reiki associations which are inclusive, but also for other groups, associations and even individuals (login required). The aim of the public part of this site is to provide information about European Reiki associations in order to promote them and encourage Reiki practitioners to join them.
Conciliatory value
The world of Reiki is getting more and more complex. As recently as 1980 one single school-of-thought was known. In the 90ies a multitude of new Reiki styles evolved. In such rapid and exponential developments dissonances are a natural occurrence.
In this millennium, inclusive national associations (INA) emerged endeavoring to uphold and advance standards and at the same time bring the various interest groups to the same table. This in itself brings reconciliation into dissonant areas. ERG facilitates the various INAs and thus serves the reconciliation process, one could say, on a meta level. It is maybe not coincidental that ERG was founded in Geneva and is jokingly likened to the UN.
Accomplishments until 2021
Much of ERG’s accomplishment is by definition ‘work in progress’, i.e. communication by video conferencing, online forums and annual meetings.
A first manifestation of ERG and its founders’ vision was the Charta. On July 22nd, 2020 ERG was made an association with Statutes in accordance with Swiss law.
The scientific database is public and multilingual. It is the go-to place for researchers the world over.
The Glossary of terms This long term project aims at finding Reiki terms that are acceptable in and understandable by realms of society.
Internationality 11 flags adorn the homepage, all from Europe. However, ERG is in active exchange with countries all over the world.
reiki-conciliation‘s involvement until 2021
In the years preceding ERG’s founding Francis Vendrell and René Vögtli laid the ground work. Without having formulated it then they both had been committed for years to the spirit as expressed today by ERG. Much of their motivation was in relation to the associations they were involved in at the time. Since 2016 René’s passion gravitated towards reiki-conciliation.org. After the release of RECONICLIATION – Along the Path of Mastery in January 2017, the foundation of ERG on 1st September (report) was another milestone for this work. Thus, reiki-conciliation was a driving force in the formative years of ERG.
In 2020 René disengaged from all his association work. The mission was accomplished, one could say, when ERG was up and running and thus he has no longer a direct involvement. However, the collaboration is still strong and both organisations continue to support each other.
Update January 2023
Much throughout 2022, ERG was in an internal process of re-defining itself. As a result some members left the organization and others re-group themselves. It can be reasonably expected that during 2023 a re-launch will be made public. If and how the concept of ‘Sourceness’* will play a role in the future development of ERG remains to be seen.

Update June 2023
The reorganization of the group is gradually coming to the end and the new website www.europeanreikigroup.org has been launched with a new logo that now adorns this page.
In September 2023, ERG will hold their annual meeting in which the new Statutes will be introduced.
