RTalk 'Politics' - Mischa Vögtli-Egloff

28 June 2020

Why RTalk? Mischa critically questions the purpose of RTalk in this pilot video. She is addressing René as a fellow Reiki Teacher, her business partner and not least as her husband.

In his reconciliation work René has spoken to many exciting personalities. Across generations and barriers of styles and traditions. He wants to provide a platform where opinions are shared in the spirit of agreeing to disagree.

The RTalks should be spontaneous and free thinking and both discussants have equal rights to decide the release without need to justify their decision.

The two discussants dispute the need of a senior Reiki person to contribute and serve in Reiki associations – and come to different answers: Mischa suspecting they are places for too much ‘politics’ and too little hands-on practicality. René argues that the privilege of a life in Reiki also demands to give something back in return.

The exemplary Reiki project in schools in Portugal is discussed with admiration. Mischa and René celebrate that the different approaches in Reiki styles are insignificant in the face of the simplicity and beauty of Reiki and its effect for the children and their families.

The separation between people is to a great extent an illusion. The lock-down situation around Corona during which this video was made brought this insight to the surface visible for anyone. The media of online communication is discussed.

Mischa’s clarity of opinion and straightforwardness of communication make the difference in a Reiki conference. René recounts the situation and Mischa gets emotional.
